A little over a year ago I posted a circular chart of the Hexagrams. I was inspired to do this by a comment Luis Andrade made regarding a question about the Hexagrams in a previous post. Well I have to thank Luis again. I received a request from Princeton University Press to include this chart in a book on math to be published in October, 2011. The book is by Persi Diaconis and Ron Graham, titled Magical Mathematics: Revealing the Secrets behind Great Card Tricks of the World. In this book, the authors include a section on the I Ching and its relation to mathematics.
Needless to say, I am thrilled to be included in such a book and most especially since it was Princeton University Press that published our I Ching bible, the Wilhelm translation with Carl Jungs’s famous forward.
I will include here again the image to be included in the book as well as a link to the original post.
I sell this image in several different at my Zazzle store. Clicking on the image will take you to that link.
[…] when I wrote about it about being included in a math book published by Princeton University Press. (Here.) The image is also available as a poster. This image will be the first in the new book. Stay tuned […]
Hello is there anyone who can help me to know that how I can use this ching chart.
If you read the post about why this chart was created, it tells how the I Ching is a circular concept rather than a linear one. How would you use it? That’s up to you. I just like to see the I Ching as a concept with no actual beginning or ending, one hexagram leading to the next. However, there are many other variations of I Ching charts. Maybe I should crate and post all of them. ? ?
Wow, thank you Adele for mentioning me!! The merit for your art is all yours.
All the best,
Luis
Luis, Yes, the art is mine, but in this case it would not have happened if you had not said that you wanted to see such a diagram which I still thank you for.
Adele
Hey Adele, CONGRATULATIONS on the inclusion of your I Ching chart into the math book!! Quite a nice ‘feather in your cap’ moment!
Celebrate!
Cheers!

Hey Pete, Thanks for the comment and looking.
