Hexagram 18 character
The image of Wind blowing low on the Mountain

Image I Ching hexagram 18, Mountain over Wind & Wood

There are times when I feel poisoned
with a stagnating parasite eating me in the gut.
I must go back in my personal history
to learn what may be the cause of my discomfort.
This is not an easy task.
It takes more than one cycle of time to understand
deeply rooted experiences not always in conscious memory.
I realize that this corruption is not something I caused
but was handed down to me through through my parents.
I can’t change my genetic code
or how my mother or father treated me.
Once I understand the cause for what
feels like a decaying can of worms,
I can move forward into a new growth cycle.

i Ching hexagrram 18 line 1

Six in the First Place

I examine my relationship with my father and learn
that the problems I inherited were handed down
through his relationship with his father.
It is important to heal these wounds for myself and
end the cycle of corruption for the benefit of future generations.
